Interview with Dojeru, the Iklii
This is an interview I partially recorded with an Iklii (Ice-Elemental) whom I never talked to before, nor did I know his name until he told me. He introduced himself as Dojeru to me. Ice-Elementals appear as Humans, but prefer an icy cold environment and thrive more the colder it gets.
Dojeru, who are you and what do you do in your daily life?
Haita Crexlan, I am an orphan Iklii and I live on the planet of Chandra in the Puppis constellation.
I live mostly outside, despite having a house, only my "nephew" lives at my home. I am a hunter on a daily basis, I am hunting animals such as elk, fish, animals in caves, am occasionally chopping wood to cook the animals...
How old are you and how old do Iklii usually live for?
I am 203 years old and our species can get up to 800 years old.
Tell me more about you.
As I said I am an orphan, my parents were killed in battle when I was a newborn. I was adopted by a hunting community and I still am proud part of the same community. My name Dojeru means "Side Dagger" and the dagger happens to be my hunting weapon of choice. Funny enough when I go hunt a family of foxes follow me and one day they brought me a bundle of wool - I made a hat with it!
I accidentally chopped a Yeti, because I thought it was a tree! I had to run for hours from the Yeti, since he obviously thought I wanted to kill him...
Oh, and more wisdom of the day: do not hunt Chandra bears!
I like to create wooden whistles, you can have one from me when we meet. Most whistles I make sound like the animals I shape them after.
My favorite food is the Dapaer Nut, grown on trees and it tastes like a bloody cow! What else can I say...
How is life on your planet Chandra?
The days on Chandra are long during spring and summer and short during fall and winter. It is a very cold environment, the warmest it can get here is below 10 degrees (Fahrenheit).
We like to educate ourselves through Runes, songs and books, but battle training and hunting are number 1 priority!
In our community we have food experts and curators who are specialists in flavoring, especially meat and they train underground underneath a tree hollow. There are only 30 at a time for this job.
Something interesting I want to tell you: Once I saw Molnaba (the Moon) and it should be impossible to see from Chandra skies!
How do you get around and do you use technology to leave the planet sometimes?
I do not have transportation, so I walk and run anywhere and everywhere. I have never been off planet, nor do I personally have direct access to Bevas (Beamships). This is simply my choice, I do not care to visit other planets. Unless there is an opportunity to learn new and different hunting techniques from Humanix Wases (Ancient Humans) or Monocerans.
What are your goals in life?
I want to become a master hunter for my village!
What message do you have for Humans?
I suggest that Humans go hunt their own food, since wild meat gives more strength! Even wild fish, vegetables and fruit is healthier.
I also want to tell Humans this: "Un desheru lashlotar fas alper kalmu" - Enter into the forest to see yourself inside.
